Abstract

1448276 Elastase EISAI CO Ltd 15 Sept 1973 43394/73 Heading C3H [Also in Division A5] Elastase is obtained from hog pancreatin by extraction with an acetate buffer solution followed by precipitation with ammonium sulphate. The precipitate is dissolved in a carbonate buffer solution, seeded with elastase, and stirred to induce crystallization. The resulting elastase crystals are suspended in distilled water, mixed with a solution containing dextran in distilled water and subjected to lyophilization to obtain the elastase product.
