Abstract

1315477 Centrifugal strainer ETABS ROUSSELET 11 June 1971 [17 June 1970] 27387/71 Heading B1D Liquid-solid mixture to be separated is delivered on to the interior surface of a permeable centrifuge drum 2 by a tube 5 and nozzle 11, tube 5 extending parallel to the drum surface and being reciprocated axially to distribute the mixture uniformly. Tube 5 extends through bearings 6, 8 which define the ends of a cylinder 7 and has secured thereto an annular piston 9 by which the tube 5 is reciprocated by delivering fluid alternately to spaces 10a, 10b. Rod 17 moves with the tube 5 and carries an adjustable pointer 20 which actuates limit switches 22, 23 which control the reversal of the piston movement. Switches 22, 23 are adjustable along cylinder 7 to adjust the stroke length of tube 5. The drum 2 may rotate about a vertical, horizontal or other axis.
