1314973 Orthopaedic traction devices G D KING 30 April 1970 [30 April 1969] 22058/69 Heading A5R An orthopaedic device comprises a framework including a threaded spindle 1, a member 11 transverse to the spindle intermediate the length thereof and having secured thereto a harness 14 for supporting the chin of the patient, one end of the spindle being adapted to support a weight and the other end having a knuckle joint 3, there being a pair of oppositely spaced members 7 each pivoted at one end to the transverse member 11 and at the other end to a second pair of pivoted members 4 which are in turn secured to the knuckle joint 3, the transverse member 11 being adjustable in position along the threaded spindle and defining one end of the framework, the second pair of pivoted members 4 defining a second end of the framework opposed to the first end and guiding the harness. The pivoted members 4 are provided with either pivoted guide connections 8 or integral guides (8'), Figure 4 (not shown), to guide the harness 14.
