Abstract

1314812 Pyrazolines and isoxazolines IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 May 1970 [20 May 1969 29 Dec 1969] 25629/69 and 63036/69 Heading C2C Nematocidal and acaricidal compounds of formula wherein X is oxygen or -NR-, R being hydrogen or a hydrocarbon group, Y is oxygen or sulphur and A is an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group, and acylated derivatives thereof, are prepared by (a) reaction of a trifluoroacetocetic ester with a diazonium salt to give a compound of formula in which R 6 is a hydrocarbon group, followed by cyclization, for example by reaction with a compound NH 2 -XH, (b) reaction of a 4-unsubstituted heteocycle with a diazonium salt, (c) conversion of a ketone to a thioketone by reaction with phosphorus pentasulphide or (d) acylation.
