Abstract

1314412 Glass melting tank SKLARNY BOHEMIA NARODNI PODNIK 15 May 1970 [28 May 1969] 23751/70 Heading C1M [Also in Division F4] A glass melting furnace includes a melting compartment 11 connected by a sub-surface throat 12 to a working compartment 13 which is circular in horizontal section and is provided with a stirrer 14, the height of the sub-surface throat 12 being from 1/7 to 1/3 of the depth of the glass in the furnace. A two-sided step 15 is provided in the bottom of the furnace adjacent the throat. A floater 16 extending over the whole width of the melting compartment 11 and having a length at least 1/10 that of the compartment 11 is provided adjacent the throat.
