1314135 Cabinets KARL MENGELE & SÍHNE MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI 9 July 1971 [10 July 1970] 32395/71 Heading A4B [Also in Divisions B8 and B6] An endless conveyer in a storage cabinet comprises a series of pairs of carriers 22, 23 a pair of outer chains 1, 2 secured to the outer ends of each pair of carriers by pairs of pivoted links 24, 25, 28, 29 and an inner chain 21 displaced vertically downwards relative to the outer chains 1, 2 by a distance 'a' and secured to the inner ends of each pair of carriers by a pair of pivoted links 26, 27. The point of suspension 30 of the carriers by the inner chain 21 is displaced by the said distance 'a' below the corresponding points of suspension 31, 32 of the outer chains 1, 2. The outer chains are guided around sprockets 3, 4, 5, 6, and in channel shaped guides (41), (42) Fig. 3 (not shown), the sprockets being carried on brackets 7, 8, 9, 10 connected in pairs by bars 11a, 11b which in turn mount sprockets 16, 17 for the inner chain. A common drive shaft 15 coupling the outer sprockets 3, 4 also drives the lower inner sprocket 17 through a chain 19 and sprockets 18, 20. A tensioner 48 acts on the lower bar 11a to control the tension in the chains.
