1314045 Oniku extract KYUSHIN SEIYAKU KK 27 July 1970 36219/70 Heading A5B A method of extracting the tonic components from fresh oniku includes the steps of comminuting the fresh oniku; extracting the comminuted material with water to remove substantially all unwanted water-soluble matter; extracting the remaining solids with an alcohol; removing the alcohol extract from the solids and evaporating to give the product. The initial water extract may be treated with alum to precipitate further tonic components which are then extracted with alcohol to give a further alcohol extract which may be combined with the other alcohol extract or extracts.
