1312936 Floating centrifugal pumps WATERMASTER INDUSTRIES Ltd 2 Nov 1970 [3 Nov 1969] 52092/70 Heading F1C A floating pump comprises a circular pumping chamber 16 surrounded by an annular flotation chamber 40 which may contain a solid buoyant material 41, the chambers being defined by integral upper and outer walls 21, 22, integral inner and lower walls 30, 31 and a detachable cover 18. The impeller shaft 12 is journalled in the cover 18 and in a detachable bearing plate 11, the cover and bearing plate being secured by bolts 26 to the upper wall 21 around an opening in the upper wall, defined by a function of the upper wall and the inner wall 30, the opening being large enough to permit the impeller 14 to pass through it when the impeller, bearing plate and cover are withdrawn upwardly as a single unit. An electric motor or four-stroke engine mounted on a plate 64 drives the pump through a spur gear 60 and a ring gear 63. The inlet to the chamber 16 is defined by a circular fold 32 between the walls 30, 31, while the discharge to a detachable hose is in the form of a generally radial tube 46 integral with the wall 30. The wall 31 is formed with hollow legs 39 which abut a detachable intake screen 50.
