Abstract
1312611 Polymeric catalysts BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 27 April 1970 [9 May 1969] 23679/69 Heading B1E [Also in Divisions C3 and C5] A polymeric support material contains repeating units of the formula: wherein R, R' and R" are hydrogen, aryl, alkyl or cycloalkyl and x, y, m, n are 0 or' an integer up to 3 with the proviso that x, y, m, n do not all have integral values greater than 1 and is prepared by reacting an ethylenically unsaturated polymer with a phosphine compound of formula R'R"PH. The support material may be reacted with a transition metal compound, e.g. cobaltous chloride to provide the active species on the polymer surface. The preferred polymer is polybutadiene.
