Abstract

1312327 Hydraulic power systems SOC D'APPLICATIONS DES MACHINES MOTRICES 20 Oct 1970[24 Oct 1969] 49830/70 Heading F1P In a closed circuit hydraulic power transmission system, a variable output reversible pump 2 is connected via lines 3, 4 to a fixed capacity motor 1, each line 3, 4, being connected to a spool valve distributer 5 which by-passes some of the fluid in the lower pressure line through a cooler 8 and tank 7 before being returned to the same line by a make-up pump 16. The spool 20 is spring biased to a central position from which it is displaced by high pressure fluid entering chamber 25 or 26 via a throttled line 23 or 24, the by-passed fluid entering the space between the spool lands from line 22 or 21 and exiting via non-return valve 32. In a modification, Fig.2 (not shown), the throttles 27 in lines 23, 24 are replaced by non-return valves, which may be located inside the distributer, Fig.4 (not shown). The springs 28 biasing the spool 20 may act through rings which limit the extension of the springs by engagement with a shoulder within the distributer housing Fig. 3 (not shown). This provides for a greater pressure differential between the ends of the spool 20 before the latter moves. A stop (41) may be provided to limit movement of the spool 20.
