Abstract
1312310 Hot blast stoves DIDIER-WERKE AG 2 Nov 1970 [3 Nov 1969] 52017/70 Heading F4K In a stove and particularly a blast furnace stove having a wall consisting of an external metal sheath 1 and an internal lining 2 of insulating and refractory material, gas barrier means comprising preferably an internal sheath 8 of aluminium or copper sheet or foil or a suitable plastics material, is located within the lining and is adapted to mask the whole selected areas of the interior surface of the outer sheath 1 from contact by any stove gases which may penetrate the lining and thereby cause corrosion or other deterioration of the outer sheath 1. The gas barrier sheath 8 may be spaced from the outer sheath 1 by a distance from 10% to 90% of the lining thickness and may incorporate means (e.g. corrigations) to permit differential expansion. The stove wall shown consists of an insulating layer or layers 7 immediately inside the outer sheath or casing 1; followed by the gas barrier layer 8 and at least one insulating layer 9; and finally a refractory material, e.g. bricks, in one or more layers.
