Abstract

1311919 Cables ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 3 Sept 1970 [4 Sept 1969] 42201/70 Heading H1A Two conductors 1 are each sheathed in insulation 2 to which are attached insulating bridge pieces 3 of the same insulating material as that forming the conductor insulations. The insulated conductors are twisted together and the bridge pieces 3 are so shaped that the resulting cable has a circular outline (Fig. 1a, not shown). The bridge pieces 3 are connected to the conductor insulations 2 by tear-off indentations 4 so that the bridge pieces 3 may be removed to leave the circular separately insulated conductors. Three conductors may be joined by three bridge pieces (Figs. 2a, 2b, not shown), the completed cable again being circular, and the spaces between the insulated conductors in the cable may be left unfilled (Fig. 3, not shown) or may be only partly filled (Fig. 4, not shown). The conductor insulation may be P.V.C., polyethylene, natural rubber, butyl rubber or silicone rubber, and may be applied by extrusion, the bridge pieces 3 being formed at the same time.
