Abstract

1311793 Moulded stackable chairs 19 April 1971 7394/70 Headings A4H and A4J [Also in Division B5] A chair is moulded, e.g. by vacuum forming, from a sheet of thermoplastic material, e.g. ABS, or polymethyl methacrylate, so as to have a seat 10 and base 9 projecting from opposite sides thereof. The sheet 2 is flat or may be curved and a backrest is formed with a concave portion 6, the seat also having a recess 5. Stiffening webs 14 are formed between the base and the sheet. For stacking the recess 9 can accommodate the seat 10 of an adjacent chair. The chair can be injection moulded.
