Abstract

1311342 Semi-conductor switching circuits PLESSEY CO Ltd 8 June 1971 [14 July 1970] 34159/70 Heading H3T In order to set bi-stable M1, M2-for example to a predetermined state by conduction of M7, when power is initially applied to terminals 2, 3, of the circuit board carrying it, a FET M5, for example, is held initially non-conductive but turns on when a capacitor C charges through R1 to a preset level, this level being maintained to keep M7 off and the bi-stable responsive to trigger inputs (not shown) until the power is disconnected, whereupon D1 and R2 are enabled to discharge C. Modifications include a second supply voltage (6, Fig. 3, not shown) with a separate discharge circuit (D2, R3); and the use of bipolar FET's (Fig. 4, not shown) in a core-reading arrangement. In another embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the pad 9 in M5 gate circuit is dispensed with and two other pads used (9a, 9b), which are necessary for other non- simultaneous circuit functions; each has an OR gate ga gb in its path, and both OR gates receive the voltage from C, R1 so that the pads (9a, 9b) are energized simultaneously only by the switching voltage from C, R1. An AND gate q responds to this coincidence and earths M5 gate.
