Abstract

1310987 Communication systems SIEMENS AG 21 Sept 1970 [29 Sept 1969] 44805/70 Heading H4R In a carrier frequency communication system in which a pilot signal is transmitted over a high voltage supply system and is switched between two frequencies to effect data signal transmission, a breakdown of communication from a station A Fig. 1 is detected at station B and causes the pilot signal transmitted from B, over the return path, to be shifted to a third frequency, intermediate its two normal signalling frequencies, interrupting signal transmission in the return direction, from B to A, and indicating a fault condition. The reception of the third frequency at station A causes the blocking of signal transmission from A to B.
