1310679 Radio frequency systems MARCONI CO Ltd 13 May 1970 [31 July 1969] 38416/69 Heading H4L A monitoring arrangement for data from a number of mobile vehicles sends a signal from a control transmitter to all the vehicles which each respond (after a delay) by transmitting data, the delay in each case being pre-set to one of a number of different values. The arrangement is described in connection with the interrogation of police cars by a coded control signal every 20 seconds, each car on receipt of this signal loading a different value into a counter which is then counted down by a crystalcontrolled clock so that the cars transmit data at 25 millisecond intervals. The data transmitted, which may relate to car position, fuel reserve &c., is digitally encoded and transmitted automatically.
