Abstract

In,an interrogation-reply system, interference with the interrogation signals is prevented by coding. The codes may be stored in the form of printed circuits which are selected for transmission arbitrarily. At the responder, a decoder checks for coincidence between an incoming code and a corresponding code stored in the responder, which causes the required information to be inserted in the reply signal. The reply is analysed at the interrogation unit, in a decoder, on the basis of the stored, previously transmitted, codes. Complete identity of the transmitted codes is not required and the reply is accepted when small timing displacements occur.
