Abstract

1310434 Acylated hydrazines CIBA-GEIGY AG 26 March 1970 [28 March 1969] 14901/70 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and C5] The invention comprises compounds of the formula wherein n represents 0 or an integer from 1 to 5, R 1 represents an alkyl or cycloalkyl group containing up to 12 carbon atoms, R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or cycloalkyl group containing up to 12 carbon atoms, R 3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkanoyl group containing from 2 to 18 carbon atoms or a group of the formula where n, R 1 and R 2 are defined above. Such compounds are prepared by reacting with hydrazine a compound of the formula where X represents chlorine or a hydroxy or C 1-8 alkoxy group and n, R 1 and R 2 are as defined above and further acylating the monoacylated hydrazine where necessary. Examples are furnished. The compounds are employed as stabilizers for organic materials normally subject to oxidative deterioration (see Divisions C3 and C5).
