Abstract

1310166 Injection moulding thermosetting resins BOLIDT MAATSCHAPPIJ TOT EXPLOITATIE VAN KUNSTSTOFFEN EN BOUWWERKEN NV 18 March 1970 13155/70 Heading B5A In a method of making moulded articles containing at least one thermosetting resin material of the group consisting of polyester resins, polyurethanes and epoxy resins, a highly viscous moulding mixture having the consistency of putty and containing reinforcing fibres having a mean length of from 5 to 200 mm., is forced through a filling duct into a mould at a pressure of from 0À25 to 5 atmospheres gauge, the filling duct having a substantially constant cross-sectional area throughout its length and a diameter of some centrimetres. The reinforcing fibres may be vegetable fibres preferably of a length between 10 and 20 mm. The diameter of the filling duct is preferably between 30 and 60 mm. The moulding material may include fillers such as asbestos powder or quartz flour and a catalyst.
