Abstract
1309836 Bearing supports; resilient mountings DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 15 Sept 1971 [15 Sept 1970] 43923/70 Heading F2A and F2S A bearing assembly comprises a non-rotating support member 14 which is held in position by a plurality of radial springs 16, each of which is precompressed and held under compression by a stop 18, but is free to be further compressed by the support member to dump large-out-of-balance forces. The support member may form the outer ring of a hydrodynamic squeeze film bearing, the inner ring 13 of which supports or provides the outer race of a rolling bearing.
