Abstract

1309550 Fuel supply control system CAV Ltd 22 June 1970 [1 July 1969] 33081/69 Heading G1N [Also in Division F1] A fuel system for a multi-cylinder I. C. engine 10, comprises a fuel supply unit 11 controlled by a unit 12. During operation of a four cylinder comparison-ignition engine, a commutator 17 delivers signals representative of the peak torques developed at each firing stroke to comparators A1, A2, A3, A4 which also receive a signal representative of the mean value of the peak torques from a unit 13 or representative of a peak torque demand. Any error signal developed is stored in associated memories B1, B2, B3, B4 until it is supplied via commutator 18 to the control unit 12 to thereby suitably adjust the fuel supply to the appropriate cylinder. The unit 12 also controls the unit 11 in accordance with an error signal produced at 16 by comprising a signal from 14 indicative of mean torque produced by the engine with a demand signal from an operator-controlled member 15.
