Abstract
1308961 Interlocking dishes; trays TRENDMARK Ltd 10 Aug 1971 [12 May 1970] 22877/70 Heading A4A A dish is provided with means which enable it to be releasably assembled with a second similar dish to form a compartmented tray. The dish comprises a plastics receptacle surrounded by a flanged rim. The flange 1 has a trapezoidal tongue 6 in its upper face and a trapezoidal recess 7 in the lower face. The opposite flange 2 has a recess 6a in its upper face and a tongue 7a in its lower face. Two such dishes are joined by engaging the tongue 6 in the recess 6a and the tongues 3a, 4a in the recesses 3, 4. The inter-engaged tongues are held together by the flexibility of the plastics flanges. The tongue 7a may have projections 8 on its upper surface which may engage in indentations 9 in the lower surface of tongue 6. In a modification one of the tongues has flexible lugs which are engaged in apertures in the other tongue. The dish may have tongues on any of its edges and may be non-rectangular. Each flange may have a plurality of tongues which can co-operate with a plurality of recesses in a second similar tray.
