Abstract

1308429 Teleprinters SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [5 Feb 1970] 21027/71 Heading H4P In a teleprinter receiver where multi-element start/stop character signals are fed into register stages K5-KAn for transfer to print units A5 to A1, the input to the register is blocked by gate G2 between calls to the teleprinter. At the termination of a call the line assumes start polarity (0), presenting a 1 at output E<SP>1</SP> of bi-stable K11, and also the last register stage KSp has been set as a result of the end-ofmessage signal. Gate G1 accordingly opens so switching bi-stable K12 to output Q(0) which blocks gate G2. During message reception gate G2 passes the signals with inversion because of the inversion by K11. At the start of another call the change from stop polarity, the calling signal, to the start polarity of the first signal causes K11 to switch to E<SP>1</SP>(1) so switching K12 back to Q(1) and once more opening gate G2.
