Abstract

1308193 Photo-electrophoretic imaging XEROX CORP 15 April 1970 [16 April 1969] 17958/70 Heading G2H A photo-electrophoretic imaging process includes the step of coacting at least one of the electrodes with a layer of liquid or wax to reduce the random migration of particles from the imaging suspension to the surface of the electrode. This improves image quality and facilitates transfer of the image from the electrode to a receiver. Castor oil, silicone oil and eicosane are preferred. Part of the layer may be transferred with the image to the receiver and may act as a fixative e.g. if the layer is liquid it may soften the receiver, and if solid wax may be heated to trap the imaging particles.
