Abstract
1307527 Measuring co-ordinate values electrically RANK ORGANISATION Ltd 1 May 1970 [14 May 1969] 24533/69 Addition to 1076253 Heading G1N Apparatus for determining the co-ordinates of the centre of a circular hole or shaft differs from that disclosed in the main Specification 1076253 in that, instead of using a filter, the output from sensor 3 is gated for one complete cycle through a differential harmonic analyser tuned to the fundamental frequency. The output of the analyzer is sampled at orthogonally disposed positions, the outputs being stored in, for example, capacitors 11, 12 and displayed on meters 13, 14 which are calibrated to indicate the X and Y co-ordinates of the centre of hole 4. The analyzer itself may itself provide the sine and cosine components and may incorporate capacitors. If these are open circuited simultaneously they may effectively take the place of the stores 11, 12. An appropriate circuit utilizing the differential harmonic analyzer itself is indicated in Fig. 2 (not shown).
