Abstract
1307338 Brazing; welding by pressure GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 19 April 1971 [2 Feb 1970] 20021/71 Heading B3R [Also in Division F1] A gas turbine blade having a solid aerofoilshaped core (28, Fig. 3, not shown) has a surrounding, ribbed, copper sheath (30, 31) secured thereto by gold plating the core and ribs (36) and then brazing the members together by heating under pressure in a hydrogen atmosphere. The sheath may alternatively be of aluminium in which case the bond may be effected by welding, brazing, soldering or diffusion bonding. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller Specification 1,230,324.
