Abstract

1307276 Double-walled boxes MITSUBISHI RAYON CO Ltd 26 Aug 1970 [9 Sept 1969 19 Dec 1969 (2) 29 Dec 1969 (2) 24 March 1970] 41155/70 Heading B5A [Also in Division F4] Double-walled boxes are produced from synthetic resin by injection moulding the inner wall sections 5 of the box body integrally and the outer wall sections 1-4 each having one edge thereof connected to the free end 6 of an inner wall and other edges separated therefrom and the wall sections of each double wall section both being inclined to, and on opposite sides of the plane to be occupied by the respective outer wall section in the desired box construction, removing the moulding from the mould and then bending the outer walls into horizontal or vertical planes and connecting the adjacent edges thereof to each other. The space between the walls may be filled with foamed heatinsulating material, e.g. foamed polyurethane or polystyrene. The moulding may be a cabinet for a refrigerator, hot box or dish-washing machine. Top and bottom outer walls may be omitted, the top then being a preformed working surface (10, Fig. 9, not shown). Apreformed inner back wall (12, Fig. 13, not shown) may also be used. The outer walls may be curved (Fig. 14, not shown) or bent (at 14, Fig. 15, not shown). The moulding may be produced with lugs (A<SP>111</SP>, Fig. 16, not shown) to retain it on the desired mould part. The moulding material may be ABS, polypropylene or polyethylene.
