Abstract

1307190 Friction clutches DR ING hcf PORSCHE KG 31 Aug 1971 [6 Oct 1970] 40481/71 Heading F2C In a friction clutch having driven plates 23, 23<SP>1</SP> and presser plates 18, 18<SP>1</SP>, the presser plates are guided for axial movement by bolts 4 with which part-cylindrical recesses 25 of the presser plates engage, the bolts 4 securing the clutch cover 5 to the flywheel 3. The cover 5 is also formed with webs 7, each having a flange 8 which engages with a recess in the flywheel and a guide recess 10 for the bolt 4. The ring gear 12 for the starter is fixed on a carrier ring 11 by projections 13, the ring gear being thus on the cover 5. A diaphragm spring 19 biases the clutch into engagement, movement to the left of the release bearing disengaging it. The cover may be of aluminium, an anodic oxide layer 22 on the bearing 16 for the spring on the cover preventing wear of this. The construction with the webs 7 aids cooling.
