Abstract
1306276 Inverting UNION CARBIDE CORP 29 Sept 1970 [30 Sept 1969] 46311/70 Heading H2F [Also in Division H1] The circuit described in Specification 1,252,935 for delivering essentially square wave pulses to the load treating circuit 52 of an apparatus for the corona discharge treatment of plastics (see Division H1) is modified by the addition of ganged variable resistors 49 and 50 to enable the frequency to be adjusted for operation under maximum load conditions. In a further modification (Fig. 6, not shown) delivering trains of sonic frequency pulses, the transformer tappings 30 and 32 are eliminated, connections from the thyristors 34 and 36 being taken to the ends of the transformer secondary winding, and a choke is connected in the lead to the centre tap 18. A further circuit (Fig. 7, not shown) also delivering trains of sonic frequency pulses, includes a rectifier circuit, a timing circuit, an isolation stage and a multivibrator circuit.
