Abstract

1306195 Autographic registers KETCHAM & McDOUGALL Inc 25 May 1971 [23 April 1971] 17056/71 Heading B6A An autographic register 10, Fig. 3, having selective hand and power operated paper web feed means comprises a split plastics casing, including an upper portion 12, Fig. 2, and a lower portion 22, which is provided with a pair of bifurcated stanchions 26 supporting a web roll 24 from which the paper web 14 is drawn off under the base of the lower portion 22 into a tortuous paper web tensioning channel 13 and advanced over the writing surface 15 to feed means formed by a pair of rubber coated feed rollers 50, Fig. 3, disposed below the writing surface 15 and passing through recesses therein to co-operate with a downwardly, resiliently biased presser bar 18. The paper web 14 may be fed by power on depression of a bar 17 which energizes a motor 52, Fig. 3, driving the rollers 50 through a gear train 58 and a spring clutch 56, which becomes disengaged when a hand knob 16 is operated to induce hand feed. Further hand feed is possible by raising the bar 18, provided with paper severing edge 19, against the bias of spring 38 and pulling the leading edge of the paper web 14 which is disengaged from the rollers 50.
