Abstract

1305983 Shoots NORDBERG MFG CO 14 April 1970 [14 April 1969(2)] 17725/70 Heading B8S [Also in Division B2] A gyratory crusher includes a rotary feed distributer provided with means to cause a bed of material to form and reduce wear. One embodiment comprises a spout 52 formed from a curved plate 53 and an inclined bottom plate 56 and a material-retaining formation 60 which causes the layer of material to build up and thus reduce wear. A second material-retaining formation 64 is spaced upwardly and to the rear of the bar 52 and is formed of two bars arranged in a V-shape. The level assumed by the "dead bed" of material in operation is generally along a line 66. A second embodiment includes a grate 84 having bars 86 equally spaced across the upper surface of the bottom plate 74. These collect material behind them and cause a "dead bed" of material to build up.
