Abstract
1305453 Cable harness BRITISH IN- SULATED CALLENDERS CABLES Ltd 13 May 1971 7123/70 Heading H2C [Also in Division H1] A cable harness comprises cable tapes 1, 2, 3 assembled face to face surrounded by a loose fit- ting sheath 4. The conductors of branch tapes 5, 7, 8 are electrically connected to the conductors of the cable tapes by spot welding and the branch tapes physically connected to the cable tapes by glue. The branch tapes may be connected parallel to the cable tapes and bent over along a 45 degree line when they are drawn out of the slits 9 in the sheath after assembly of the sheath over the cable and branch tapes. Alternatively the branch tape may be connected at right angles to the cable tape and bent so as to lie along the cable tape during assembly into the sheath. The locations of slits in the sheath are marked by ink, ribs or grooves and the sheath may be of rubber or similar material. The junction between the branch and main tapes may be strengthened by a reinforcing rubbersheet 6 or a covering of rubber-like material. Alternatively a wrapping of tape or rubber-like material may be glued or otherwise bonded to the sheath.
