Abstract
1305035 Radio-active materials E R SQIBB & SONS Inc 14 Jan 1970 [14 Jan 1969] 645/70 Heading G6R A colloidal suspension of a complex or compound of technetium 99m and sulphur is prepared by contacting together an acid solution, pertechnetate ion, and a sulphur source, in the presence of a gelling agent, a buffering agent, and a chelating agent capable of preventing flocculation caused by polyvalent ions. The sulphur source may be sodium thiosulphate, the gelling agent gelatine or carboxymethyl cellulose, and the chelating agent disodium edetate or various other specified compounds; a buffer solution containing sodium biphoaphate and sodium hydroxide may be used. The colloidal suspension is made just before use in medical diagnosis. The invention also includes a kit comprising the reagents used in preparing the colloidal suspension from a pertechnetate solution obtained from a sterile technetium generator.
