1304849 Electro-chemical analysis IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 25 June 1970 [14 July 1969] 35352/69 Heading G1N In a combined electrode assembly in which a sensor electrode 7 and a reference electrode 6 are arranged in a tubular housing 1, the elec--- trodes are individually removable and replaceable. As shown, a silver/silver chloride electrode 7 and a platinum reference electrode 6 are detachably held in a P. T. F. C.E. cap 5 itself detachably fitted to a P.T.F.C.E. housing 1. A porous disc 3 permits conductance between solution inside and outside housing 1. 10 is coaxial cable. The arrangement may be used to measure redox potentials or chloride ion concentration in the manufacture of vinyl acetate. In alternative arrangements (not shown), the sensor electrode may be platinum, glass, or a specific ion electrode.
