Abstract

1304703 Telegraphic exchanges SIEMENS AG 4 March 1970 [5 March 1969] 10264/70 Heading H4P In a telegraphic exchange line circuit for connecting a single-current subscriber's line to a double-current exchange circuit, telegraphic signals received on the subscriber's two-wire line (shown on the left hand side in Fig. 4) appear across resistor Rl, mark signals turning on transistor T to cause current to flow through R5 and one way through relay A and space signals turning off transistor T to cause current to flow through R6 and the other way through relay A. Relay A repeats the telegraphic signals on to a double-current circuit of the exchange. The invention is characterized by the provision of capacitor C1 and resistor R1 which are large compared with any line capacitance or resistance to which the line circuit may be selectable connected thereby reducing distortion of the double-current signals. Distortion is further reduced by suitable adjustment of the trigger threshold of transistor T determined by resistor R3. In Fig. 4 contact b of relay B transmits telegraphic signals to the subscriber after a calling signal polarity reversal on the line by contacts U1, U2. The arrangement shown ensures no disturbance of the current through resistor R1 during transmission.
