Abstract

1304600 Work transferring WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT " 7 OKTOBER " BERLIN VEB 19 Aug 1970 39890/70 Heading B3B In a method of loading workpieces 1.3 to a plurality of machine tools 2 for the simultaneous machining of said workpieces in which the workpieces are stored in a multi-storey ring magazine 1, each of the storeys of the magazine is turned in dependence on a program of a respective one of the machine tools 2, the workpieces 1.3 being exchanged with a machined workpiece in the machine tool by means of a vertical transport device 3. The machine tools are disposed radially of the magazine and fixed tracks 3.1 are arranged above a workpiece clamping position of the machine tools. A further fixed track 4 and vertical transport device is provided for loading the magazine rings 1.1. A machined workpiece taken from a machine tool may be replaced in the same compartment 1.2 from which the replacement workpiece is taken, or may be replaced in a different compartment in the same or different storey. The complete operation may be computer controlled.
