1303438 Combined seats and cases F GODDARD & CO Ltd 9 Oct 1970 [17 Oct 1969] 51215/69 Headings A4G A4H A4J A4U A combined seat and case comprises a tubular metal frame externally clad with a covering of canvas or plastics comprising four sides and a bottom, and a seat at the top forming, or in addition to, the case top, the frame comprising top and bottom rectangular rings 1, 2, Fig.6, interconnected by load bearing members 3-6, the lower ends of members 3-6 projecting beyond ring 2 to provide or to receive feet. The feet may be a push fit in or over members 3-6, and may comprise two W or U-shaped members 8, Fig.5, or 7, Fig.4a, (not shown), or four curved feet 7, Fig.4, (not shown). The feet may be attached by thumbscrews, their open ends may be plugged or capped, and rubber rings, washers or grommets 80 may be provided on members 3-6. The seat S may be hinged to one end of top ring 1,or it may comprise a strip or a spring loop, of canvas or plastics, Fig.7b, connected between the ends of top ring 1 or two U or W-shaped end members 9 integral with or a push fit in or over members 3-6. The strip ends may be stitched to ring 1 or members 9, or one end may include hooks 13, Fig. 9, (not shown). One end of the loop may include a latching member 90, Fig.7b, jammed between parts 1, 9. In a further form access to the case interior is through a front zipped flap. The seat and case may include a backrest, pockets, and carrying straps.
