Abstract

1,238,303. Combination bag and rucksack. J. E. DROEGER. 19 Sept., 1968 [20 June, 1967], No. 28493/67. Heading A4G. A portable container 1, Fig. 3, with a carrying handle 3 has a person's back carrying harness 9-14, Figs 3, 4, connected at 10, 11 and 15 to a rigid frame 7, e.g. of plywood, connected or connectable to the container and a panel 5b of resilient material, e.g. sponge rubber or a pneumatic bladder, foldable as in Fig. 4 to form a cushion when carried on the back and, when unfolded, being secured across and at least partially concealing the frame and harness when the container is hand carried. As shown in Fig 3, the panel is secured on the container by an inverted-U sliding fastener 6 while straps 16 secure it in the folded form. The frame and harness may form a unit having means, e.g. straps, securing it to an existing container.
