Abstract

1408238 Combined bags and stools; folding stools ABU AB 19 Jan 1973 [30 May 1972] 2976/73 Headings A4G, A4H and A4J A rucksack/folding stool assembly comprises two pivotally inter-connected crossed pairs of leg frames 3a, 3b and a seat 5 of foldable material inter-connecting the frames 3a, 3b, the frames forming, in folded position of the stool, a rucksack carrier. The frames 3a, 3b may be locked in collapsed condition by a hook 19 of a lever 17 biased by a spring 14 attached to the rucksack 1, a cushion 6 then being positioned to engage the back of a person carrying the rucksack by means of straps 10. On releasing the lever 17, the frames 3a, 3b are opened out by the spring 14, the cushion 6 taking up a position on the stretched seat 5. Holders 21 for bags (24), Fig. 1 (not shown), may be bolted to the frame 3b, and projections 20 on the frames 3a, 3b may prevent movement of the stool e.g. on ice.
