Abstract
1303224 Back-hoe excavator KARL SCHAEFF KG MASCHINENFABRIK 19 April 1971 [23 March 1970] 24045/71 Heading E1F To enable a back-hoe excavator to be stowed in a transport position, a boom and a boom buffing ram are pivotally mounted at spaced locations on a lever pivotally connected to a slewing pillar supported on a vehicle-mountable frame. Boom 36, Fig. 1, and ram 41 are pivotally mounted on a lever 38 which is connected to pillar 38 by a pivot at 37 and a bolt 39. To raise the vehicle-mounted excavator to a transport position, bucket 42 is rested on the ground, bolt 39 is removed, ram 41 is retracted and link 43 is inserted between the upwardly pivoted lever and the pillar. Ram 41 is then extended until boom 30 rests on member 44. The removal of link 43 and retraction of ram 41 further pivots lever 38. Alternatively, Fig. 2, lever 38 is pivoted upwardly by the simultaneous extension of rams 41, 46, which pivots the boom, dipper stick and shovel about the shovels' resting surface. Link 43 is then inserted and ram 41 retracted until boom 36 is in its transport position. The lever may be pivoted (Fig. 3, not shown) by a ram connected between the lever and the pillar.
