1302615 Seals JOSAM MFG CO 24 Feb 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 8900/70 Heading F2B A gasket collar G e.g. for disposition between a drain pipe D and an outlet portion CO of a floor drain B comprises a resilient elastomeric sleeve 10 having a groove 14 for receiving a driving tool, a set of outwardly extending circumferential fins 12, and a set of inwardly extending fins 11. Each fin may be defined by a longer face a at 18-30 degrees to the body surface 10x, 10n a shorter face c at a larger angle and a tip face b. The collar may be of plasticised P.V.C., &c., the inner surface 10n being cylindrical while the outer surface 10x is tapered at about 2 degrees. The face a preferably slopes at 20 degrees, the inner face c being at about 40 degrees to the collar axis, while the tip face b is perpendicular to the outer face a. Axial offsetting of the inner and outer fins by 30-60% provides uniform axial strength.
