1302266 Controlled release composition SOLCO BASEL AG 10 June 1970 [10 June 1969] 28079/70 Heading A5B A medicament for oral administration to an organism in the treatment of asthma comprises a bronchospasmolytic and an expectorant, the medicament being so prepared that, when it is administered to the organism, the release of expectorant to the organism is significantly delayed as compared with the release of bronchospasmolytic to the organism, so that the expectoration of the bronchial secretion is stimulated only after the constriction of the air passages has been removed. The composition may be in the form of a tablet, layered tablet, concentric tablet, coated tablet, capsule or layered dragee, which may comprise microcapsules. In an example the active ingredients are C-phenyl-glycine n-heptyl ester hydrochloride and ipecacuonhae.
