Abstract

1301032 Dithiocarbamates CIBA-GEIGY AG 29 April 1970 [29 April 1969] 20535/70 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions A5 and C1] Compounds of general formula I: in which R 1 and R 2 may be the same or different and each represents an alkyl or an alkenyl group having three or four carbon atoms and R 3 represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having three or four carbon atoms and which may be substituted by a chlorine atom have been used as plant growth regulants. Preferred compounds are those of Formulµ II, III, IV, V and VI: The compounds of Formula I may be prepared by reacting a secondary amine with carbon disulphide and a tertiary amine or an alkali metal hydroxide and further reacting the resulting salt of a dithiocarbamic acid with a halide of formula R 3 Hal wherein Hal denotes halogen, preferably bromine. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,230,818.
