Abstract

1300591 Preparation of methoxynaphthyl propionic acid SYNTEX CORP 20 Jan 1970 [27 Aug 1969] 2768/70 Heading C2C 2 - (6 - Methoxy - 2 - naphthyl) propionic acid is prepared by treating an ester thereof with 0À1-5 volume per cent acid in an acid-stable solvent at 10‹ C. to the boiling point of the solution until hydrolysis occurs, optionally followed by optical resolution. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the above acid when prepared by the above process and a suitable excipient are used in treating inflammation, pain and pyrexia.
