Abstract

1299865 Fireguard L R BLAKE 24 March 1970 [17 Feb 1969] 8496/69 Heading F4W A guard for a heater of the kind described in co-pending application 60316/68 comprises a number of spaced apart rods or strips of material of low thermal conductivity mounted in a resilient packing or spring arrangement so that each rod or strip can be moved individually perpendicularly to the plane of the guard so as to reduce breakage. The rods may be mounted in a rubber or plastic support, or may be supported in mountings 29, 33 at the top and bottom, a V-spring VS preventing upwards movement of the rods, and springs 30, 34 holding the rods in the mountings. In another embodiment, rods 40 are held in spaced relation by a flexible spring strip 41 clipping on to each rod and supported by spring strips 42 held by a clip 43 secured to the front panel of the heater.
