Abstract

1299798 Purifying water HOKURIKU CHEMICAL MACHINERY CO Ltd and SAKAI TEXTILE MFG CO Ltd 2 April 1970 [29 Nov 1969] 15631/70 Heading C1C A coagulating, adsorptive and/or decolorizing agent comprises diatomaceous earth or perlite which has been treated with acid, preferably hydrochloric or sulphuric acid, to form soluble salts of metal oxides contained therein and subsequently roasted, preferably at about 300‹ C. The treatment of several types of waste water is described. The agent is mixed with the waste water and the mixture is passed to a settling tank where the agent settles out. The agent may be recovered by filtering and may be re-used after further roasting.
