Abstract

1299509 Background screen B LINDELOW 3 Nov 1970 [5 Nov 1969] 52140/70 Heading A6M [Also in Division G2] A device for rotatably supporting rolls comprising a web of cloth or the like, serving the purpose of, e.g. a background screen in a photographic studio comprises two parallel rollers 10 (and 11, not shown) in a horizontal plane rotatably mounted on discs 5 and 6 supported by supports 3 and 4, a pulley 18 driving gears 15, one connected to each roller 10, through a gear 16 such that rotation of the pulley rotates both rollers in the same sense, simultaneously, and at the same speed. The roll of cloth is placed on these rollers, which are made of a friction material such as rubber, and rotated by them so as to be rolled up or unrolled, the cloth passing between the rollers. The pulley is rotated by an endless cord passing around it, and passing through a hook of a weight so as to prevent the weight of the cloth from rotating the rollers by itself.
