Abstract

1298894 Valves KLOCKNER-WERKE AG 10 Aug 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 38457/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division G3] A pendulum 3, Figs. 1 and 2, operates a pair of valves 9, 10 when deflected, the valve 9 controlling a servomotor 52, Fig. 3, which may be used to adjust the inclination of a pit prop while the valve 10 has its ports interconnected with the valve 9 and compensates for the effect of the fluid-pressure forces in the valve 10 on the pendulum. Movement of the pendulum about its pivot 2 displaces a beam 6 connected by yokes to the closure members of the valves. Each closure member 16 pivots about a spring- loaded spherical bearing 28 to co-operate with a pair of seats 17 to which fluid may flow from a constant pressure supply 25 in the valve 9 and which receive fluid through the pipes 79 and 80 in the valve 10. The position of the closure member in the valve 9 determines the volume of flow in the pipes 79 and 80 through pressure actuated valves 81, 82 and through similar valves 66, 67 determines the fluid-pressure signal to be applied through pipes 63, 90 and 64, 91 to spring-loaded relay valves 94, 95 controlling the servomotor 52. The valves 66, 67 and 81, 82 may be of the kind having an elastic conduit arranged to be constricted by external fluid-pressure and the valve and servomotor sections 55 and 51 of the system are coupled together by plug-in connectors 49, 50 having ports to permit rotation through 180 degrees. A line 70 which supplies the port 25 through a filter 105 also supplies the relay valves 93, 94. In a modification, two servomotors at 90 degrees to each other are controlled by a universally mounted pendulum.
