Abstract

1298787 Valves COMALCO Ltd 15 June 1971 27999/71 Heading F2V [Also in Division E1] A window drain valve comprises an inflow chamber 22 having an inlet 24, an outflow chamber 20 having an outlet 36, a web 18 separating the two chambers, and a cylindrical float 26 which moves towards the inlet when gusts of wind acting through the outlet 36 lower the level of fluid in the outflow chamber (Fig. 4, not shown). In the embodiment of Figs. 5-8 (not shown), cavities (46) and (48) house window panes; liquid from the outer pane drains directly via outlet (78) and liquid from the inner pane drains via a cylindrical float valve to outlet (80). The cylindrical valve member may be replaced by a spherical member in which case the inlet is made circular.
