1298529 Fluoranthene-derived basic esters DR L ZAMBELETTI SpA 19 April 1971 [16 May 1970] 23012/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula Ar-X-CH 2 CH 2 CO 2 Y and their non- toxic acid addition salts, wherein Ar is fluoranthen-8-yl; X is CH 2 or CO; Y is 1-methyl-4- piperidyl or CH 2 CH 2 Z; and Z is NRR<SP>1</SP> (R, R<SP>1</SP> being each C 1-4 alkyl or C 5-6 cycloalkyl, or NRR<SP>1</SP> forming a 5 or 6 membered ring) cyclohexylamino, 4 - pyridyl, 2 - methyl - 6 - pyridyl or These compounds are prepared by reacting (1) Ar-X-CH 2 CH 2 -COCl with YOH at 0-70‹ C. in an aprotic solvent, or (2) or its sodium salt with YCl. Therapeutic compositions for oral or parenteral administration comprise the above basic esters, which have spasmolytic activity.
